Business Planning and Advisory Initiative

Yukon carrotsThe objective of this initiative is to provide assistance for non-profit organizations and governments to access consultant services to review past records and financial situations, discuss objectives, and help determine current options in meeting profitability goals.

This initiative gives applicants up to three days of consultant services. It will result in each applicant receiving a business profile, a statement of assets and liabilities, a farm business ratio analysis, an income and expenses statement from the previous two years, projections, and other information related to the business.

Eligible activities

  • Access to a certified consultant* with knowledge of the specific agriculture sector of interest.

*Listings of certified consultants are available at the Agriculture Branch.

Eligible applicants

Individuals, farm groups, cooperatives, non-profit organizations and governments.

New entrants, who are seeking to apply for other funding sources, are advised to apply for this initiative first in order to build their business plan which may be required to access further funding.

Eligible funding

The funding will cover the cost of consultant services up to a maximum of $2,000, plus required travel expenses. Applicants will contribute the first $100 towards the cost of the consultant.
