Draft Energy Strategy

An Energy Strategy for YukonYukon government is developing an Energy Strategy that will guide future decisions about developing and using Yukon’s energy resources. The Strategy considers how we can best meet our energy needs while balancing environmental and economic objectives for our energy resources.

The draft Energy Strategy identifies energy priorities for Yukon government. It proposes a vision for the energy sector and principles to guide Yukon government decision-making. The draft Strategy proposes goals, long-term strategies and short-term actions for electricity, renewable energy, energy efficiency and conservation, and oil and gas.


Public Consultation
The Energy Strategy is important to setting the current and future direction of energy in the territory. Your views are important to the preparation of a final Strategy.

We invite you to review the draft Energy Strategy and provide comments.

Technical Workshop 
A group of representatives from governments, the private sector and non-profit organizations attended a technical workshop in November 2007 to discuss principles and priorities for the Energy Strategy.
