Fox Lake local area plan

Fox lake local area plan - planning process

The planning process is designed to provide community residents with an opportunity to contribute to the plan by helping to define the type of community and quality of life they envision.

Local Area Plans are a statement of the community's vision of the future. They are policy documents that guide development and land use in a particular community for a period of about 5-20 years. They contain maps that designate different areas for different land uses and are developed with the assistance of a steering committee consisting of residents from the area.

The Fox Lake plan will identify broad goals, key principles and more specific objectives which will guide decision making for future land use decisions in the planning area.

The aim is to ensure that the community develops in an orderly manner and that the needs of present residents are met without compromising future development opportunities.
