Join the Steering Committee for the
Alaska Highway West local area plan

We are seeking individuals interested in serving as the Yukon government nominees on the Steering Committee for the Alaska Highway West local area plan.

We would like to hear from you if you are:

  • interested in planning and the area's future use;
  • familiar with the area's land use interests;
  • able to represent larger community interests in a fair, objective and equitable manner; and
  • willing to make time for the 2-year planning process.

The submission deadline is June 1, 2018.


About the Land Planning Branch

The Land Planning Branch collaborates with First Nations, Yukon communities and other government agencies to manage land use in a sustainable and orderly way, by:

  • creating community land use plans and zoning regulations;
  • processing applications for plan amendments, zoning amendments, development permits and subdivision of land;
  • identifying areas for planned land development; and,
  • providing select community mapping services.
