Land Use Permit Applications - Glossary of Terms

Permit Number Number assigned to the application when it is received by EMR Land Management Branch.
Project Name Name of project.
Description of application and location (often indicated by a map or grid reference).
Applicant Name(s) Name of person or company making the application.
Proposed Use Type of usages. Common uses include:
Access Development – seeking use of land for access to a project
Campsites- temporary camps
Miscellaneous – includes a variety of temporary land use activities
Powerlines – brush, clear and construct powerline
Quarrying- extraction of granular and topsoil materials
Seismic- oil and gas exploration
Soil Testing- geotechnical investigations
Staging Areas- includes temporary fuel storage.
Status/Permit Issue Date Approved  – a decision has been made at this date (the attachment section will have the decision document)
In Process – no decision has yet been made
Denied – application denied for a variety of reasons some of which may include non-conformity to policy, unsuitable location, YESAB recommendation, zoning …
Deferred – application is on hold due to Yukon Government not having adequate information to make an informed decision at this time; application pending receipt of more information.
YESAB Number Use this number to find the application on the Yukon Environmental Socio-Economic Assessment Board Site. The YESAB site houses Project Assessment Reports and Recommendations as well as Decision Documents.
