The Energy, Mines and Resources (EMR) Library owns over 100,000 Yukon Aerial Photographs. Aerial Photos can be borrowed overnight.  Patron must leave their Credit Card (VISA, MasterCard, or American Express) information with Library staff as security.

You can search for Yukon Aerial Photographs on SkyLine. SkyLine is a complex GIS application.  We would be happy to give you a tutorial, either over the phone (667-3111), or at the Library.

  • On the Yukon map, zoom to the area of interest
  • Open one Folder at a time under “Air Photo Points and Flight Lines” e.g. 2001-2004
  • Click both boxes: Air Photo Locations / Flight Lines
  • Click the arrow beside Air Photo Locations – the arrow will turn red, and your cursor will become an Identify tool.
  • Click on one of the air photo dots on the map.
  • This will bring up information about the photo on the right side of the screen.
  • Click on Library Location, and the EMR Library Catalog will open, giving the locations of the photos.
  • To continue searching the next Folder e.g. 1996-2000, click on the Layers tab on the top right of the screen.
