Incentive Programs
- Assay Coupon Program
This program complements the Yukon Mining Incentive Program (YMIP) by supporting prospectors who do not apply or qualify for YMIP. Prospectors can receive coupons towards the cost of an assay or analysis.
- Fuel Tax Exemption
Tax-exempt fuel is for authorised off-road commercial purposes. Authorized activities are mining, logging, outfitting, agriculture, trapping, fishing, hunting, tourism, and generation of electricity.
- Mining and Petroleum Environmental Research Group (MPERG)
The Mining and Petroleum Environmental Research Group funds and publishes research for mining, petroleum and environmental issues in the Yukon.
- Robert E. Leckie Award for Outstanding Mining Reclamation Practices
This annual award is presented to hard rock and placer mining operators for reclamation and restoration efforts that are exceptional.
- Yukon Mining Incentive Program
This program promotes and enhances mineral prospecting, exploration and development activities by providing a portion of the risk capital required to locate and explore mineral deposits.
