Quartz Mining Act - Royalty Provisions Review

The Yukon government has begun the Phase Two review of the Quartz Mining Act  578 KB (QMA) which will look at proposed changes to the royalty provisions in the Act.

Phase One of the review, which looked at Mining Claims Administration, is now complete. Comments are being compiled.

How to Participate in Phase Two:
A discussion paper has been prepared, which outlines the current royalty provisions of the Quartz Mining Act  578 KB, and proposed changes to these provisions. At the end of the discussion paper there is a questionnaire, with room for comments. Please feel free to attach additional pages if you need more room to write.

  1. Download a copy of the discussion paper  249 KB
  2. Copies of the discussion paper are also available at all four district Mining Recorder offices.
  3. In addition, copies of the discussion paper will be available at the administration desk at the Yukon Government Administration Building – 2071-2nd Avenue, Whitehorse, Yukon.
