Major Mine Licensing - Wolverine

General Information

Located 180 km southeast of Ross River, the Wolverine property is 100 per cent wholly owned and operated by Yukon Zinc Corporation. The Wolverine Project is proposed as an underground mine which will produce 1,700 tonnes per day. Measured and Indicated resources are approximately 4.46 million tonnes grading 12.14 per cent zinc, 354.8 grams per tonne silver, 1.16 per cent copper, 1.69 grams per tonne gold and 1.58 per cent lead.

Yukon Zinc Corporation was acquired by two private Chinese companies: the Jinduicheng Molybdenum Group and the Northwest Nonferrous International Investment Company in the summer of 2008.

The Quartz Mining License and Type “A” Water License have been issued which involved comprehensive consultation with the Kaska. The water license allows development of tailings structures and other water related infrastructure.

Development activities are proceeding on site; the company has completed the basic construction of an access road to the Robert Campbell Highway. This road will initially be utilized to mobilize equipment for site preparation. Upgrading of culverts and other parts of the road is expected to continue through 2008 and 2009.
