As 90% of oil and gas rig training is “on the job”, the purpose of the JSTF is to financially assist oil and gas drilling companies to offset the high costs of transporting Yukon personnel that work and train on oil and gas drill rigs outside the Yukon. As very little drilling activity will occur in Yukon until a pipeline is constructed this program keeps Yukoners trained and employed.
