2016 Yukon Forest Health Report

The 2016 Yukon Forest Health Report summarizes the forest health initiatives completed by the Forest Management Branch in 2016.

Component 1:
Aerial surveys

Component 2: Proactive management of the Mountain Pine beetle

  • Aerial survey to monitor the northward movement of the MPB

  • Identification of factors contributing to aspen decline.
  • Aerial survey to map recent blowdown event near Watson Lake to understand the potential spruce beetle risk.
