Dawson regional land use plan

Currently seeking members for the Dawson Regional Land Use Planning Commission

The Yukon government is looking to nominate 3 people for a 3-year term on the Commission. The Commission is being re-established and will consist of 6 appointees (3 from Government of Yukon, 3 from Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in). These members will guide the land use planning process for the Dawson Region in the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Traditional Territory.

The application deadline has been extended until Friday, September 14, 2018.


Please submit your name for consideration if you are a Yukon resident and have:

  • long term familiarity with the Dawson Region and the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Traditional Territory;
  • an understanding and sensitivity to the culture and aspirations of Yukon First Nations, with a specific awareness of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Final Agreement;
  • familiarity with social, cultural, environmental and economic resource issues in the region;
  • knowledge of land use planning issues; and
  • knowledge in public planning and land use management processes.
